Corruption at the Albuquerque VA Regional Office (at 500 Gold)
Good morning,
I started working for The Department of Veterans Affairs in June of 2009. I was a recently-separated Marine Corps. Veteran attending college at the time. I started as a GS-04, temporary file clerk. Thanks to the values which the US Marine Corps. instilled; I rapidly became a permanent employee. Also, very rapidly, I was promoted into the mid-management ranks. While working alongside the corrupt, union protected mid-management I witnessed corrupt practices which DIRECTLY affected the wellbeing of Veterans which depended on the office for survival.
The Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of the Albuquerque VA Regional Office were rewritten by the Quality Review Supervisor, Amanda Yvette Jaramillo. This was done in-order-to ensure that the Quality Standards (set by her) could only be reviewed by her. This would ensure that the number of disability claims sent to the US Legislative Branch reflected a decent quality standard.
The output of the office (Number of Claims) being processed by the office was, falsely, boosted as well. This was done by erroneously scheduling Disabled Veterans to attend Compensation and Pensions. The Veteran’s continuation of disability compensation reliant on attending one of these examinations; whether the examination was scheduled in error, or not. In the worst of cases, these hero’s would have, temporary, improvement in their Service-connected condition which would result in a reduction in disability compensation: directly decreasing their standard of living and livelihood all to falsely boost the official numbers provided to US legislators to get a pat on the back on the back or promotion to a Union Protected federal employee…..
